Xciter was a hard rock band formed in 1978 from an earlier glam-based outfit named The Boyz. The band featured Dokken members, George Lynch and Mick Brown even though they were in Xciter before they joined Dokken. Vocalist Gregg Sanford and bassist Monte Zufelt completed the group's lineup.
History
For their year and a half together, Xciter played all around L.A. and recorded two demos, from which several songs such as Paris Is Burning and Sleepless Nights were later recycled by Dokken on Breaking the Chains and Back for the Attack. In 2006, the band released a packaged CD collection which featured the originals. Just like so many of their contemporaries, the band had never made it out of the '70s. Legend has it that Xciter was only out-played by Van Halen on The Bill that saw Kiss bassist and vocalist, Gene Simmons take the latter under his wing.
