Xentrifuge is a harsh industrial band from New Jersey that was founded in 2005 by Chris X.[1]
History[edit]
Chris X (Chris Corrado) worked in music, including being the drummer for Life Cried, for years prior to founding Xentrifuge in 2005.[2] The name Xentrifuge was derived from the word "centrifuge", a device used in many sciences but also as a tool in the creation of weapons of mass destruction (see Zippe-type centrifuge).[3] In this first incarnation he released two studio albums: 2007's Light Extinguished[4] and 2009's Converting Infinity on the NoiTekk label.[5]
In 2012, Xentrifuge was reborn when Keyboardist, Lisa Hellen (Lisa H. Sackerman), joined the band as an official member and the duo released the album Desensitized Parallels in 2018 with Cleopatra Records.[6]
Along with the album, Xentrifuge released a music video for the song "Circles of Dust".[7]
Style[edit]
Chris stated in an interview that most of the lyrics in Xentrifuge are inspired by topics ranging from belief systems, afterlife, extinction, while addressing personal demons.[8]
Influences[edit]
They list some of their early influences as being Leaether Strip, Wumpscut, and Hocico but the Largest influence coming from Diary of Dreams.[9]
