Installation
The Xinux ISO image can be downloaded for free and installed on a computer via Live DVD or Live USB.[5]

Development of the operating system began in 2021.[citation needed] The beta version of Xinux was released to the public in August 2022.[1] In February 2023, a new server based on Xinux was deployed for the .uz top-level domain.[6]
On December 15, 2025, the stable version Xinux 25.11 was released. This edition features the GNOME desktop environment and uses NixOS as its base system.[7][8] In March 2025, the Xinux community localization project successfully translated 6% of the GNOME 48.0 desktop environment into the Uzbek language.[9]
