Y? Why Not! Show is a community public access television show that started airing in December 2018 on Comcast Cable Channel 19 in the Homewood, IL South Suburban Region of Chicago. The show is produced by Janice R Newman. She is the producer, host, and creator of the show. The Y? Why Not! Show is a community talk show that focuses on social and personal topics such as marriage, depression, and finances, along with interviewing entertainers, covering current news topics, and religion.
The idea for the show was created by the producer and host Janice R Newman after she was recovering from brain surgery for a meningioma tumor, an accident while she was in the hospital that resulted in an injury to [1]her head. Within 24 hours later, Janice was not able to communicate properly, which included speaking coherently, writing, or deciphering photos to indicate her needs and wants. She lay there in the hospital praying to God realizing through the pray that her voice was valuable and could be utilized to help others. She created the show less than 2 years later when Comcast Public Access Channel in Suburban Chicago contacted her about getting training in the studio in Elmhurst, IL to prepare her for creating a show for public access television.
The show has won numerous awards including first place in the Illinois Woman's Press Association Best Talk Show 2020, 2021, 2022.

The show airs in the Chicago Suburbs on Comcast Cable Channel 19 & 17 Homewood, Elmhurst, and Mount Prospect (Western/Northern Suburbs) region areas. The show also airs in Atlanta, GA; Berkeley, CA; Erie, PA; Washington, DC on DCTV; Silver City, NM; Grand Rapids, MN; Chicago on CAN-TV; Fayetteville, AR; Urbana, IL on UPTV; Nashville, TN, and others.
The show was filmed in the Elmhurst, IL Comcast Public Access Studio from 2018-2020 until the pandemic. It now films on location and via Zoom interviews. The show has a volunteer filming crew, which included Michael Mikrut, technical director and producer of his own community public television show "The Larry and Mike Show" which has aired for over 20 years in the suburbs of Chicago; Matthew Jemilo, director and editor affiliated with Mad Ethnic Productions; Philip Newman, floor director, and camera crew; Marcella Gomez, International Correspondent from Columbia, and others.
