Jamiah Fabian Brown,[1] also known as YSN Fab (YOUNG SOULJAS NARRATIVE) is a Canadian rapper and songwriter. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba[2][3], Fab began his career by posting Instagram freestyles in 2018 and has since been characterized by his muse and motivational style of rap.[4][5] His music has been described as melodic with impressive vocals, with the renowned Cole Bennett describing Fab as a "Canadian Roddy Ricch".[6] He has been described as one of the top Canadian artists to look out for in 2021 by the Sidedoor Magazine.[5] Brown began attracting attention from his two leading singles, "Family 2 Feed" and "You & Me." The Stylus Magazine listed Fab's song, "Nobody Loyal", in the top 100 songs to ever come out of Winnipeg[7] and he was also featured on the official "Beats by Dre" Apple Music playlist, which was created by Dr. Dre. The Exclaim! Magazine also ranked Fab's song "Bag Talk" among the best new Canadian music.[8] Later in 2021, YSN Fab was listed as one of the top rising Canadian Black artists by the Complex Networks.

Early life

YSN Fab grew up in Winnipeg and moved out of his house at the age of 17. When his American football career came to an end as a result of a knee injury, Fab had time on his hands so he created his first album, "Made 4 More".[4][5] Although Fab was never really into music, this is where he began to find an actual interest in it when he was around 18 years old.[9]

Personal life and facts

Fab remains an independent artist but foresees himself being signed to a label in the future, claiming he will "make music from my room until I die”.[9]

In an interview with New Tomorrow, Fab stated that his favorite songs of his are "Winter City" and "You & Me".[4] He went on to say that he had two major goals for his career. "To change the world like Tupac Shakur" and to "be the one who put Winnipeg on the map, like Drake".

YSN Fab expressed that his top four artist features to aim for are Roddy Ricch, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and Tory Lanez.
