Yacht agent
Yacht agent
Yacht agents operate in port locations around the world, in order to provide administrative and logistical support to superyachts and their crews.
Also ‘port agents’ or ‘consigning agents’, yacht agents assist with legal requirements and procedures[2] necessary for yachts and passengers to move between jurisdictions and countries, where rules and regulations can vary.
Agents assist captains and officers with vessel clearance, importation and immigration procedures applicable in each location, as well as local maritime regulations. For individual crew members, agents assist with visas and immigration documentation.
Aside from providing clearance and immigration support, yacht agencies provide a wide range of support services.[3]
Typical support services include:
- Visas and immigration handling
- Arrival and departure clearance
- ‘Cash to Master’
- Logistics and forwarding[4]
- Fuel and lube oil
- Berth booking
- Customs formalities
- Sanitary inspections
- Water analysis
- Recruitment
- Accommodation
- Travel arrangements
- Car rental
- Tours and excursions
- Transport and logistics
- Itineraries and events planning
- Catering
- VIP Services
