The Institution for Social and Policy Studies (ISPS) at Yale University is a public policy research institute that produces interdisciplinary social scientific research with the goal of shaping public policy and inform democratic deliberation. Established in 1968 by the Yale Corporation, the ISPS brings in scholars and practitioners for research projects, and is known internationally for its field experimentation research style.[1][2]

The current ISPS director is Alan Gerber, Dean of the Social Science Division of the Faculty of Arts and Science. Affiliated fellows at ISPS include David Wilkinson, former Director of the White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation in the Obama administration.[3][4]

History[edit]

The ISPS was established in 1968 to address "important social problems cannot be studied adequately by a single discipline." It moved to its current location at 77 Prospect Street, New Haven in the summer of 1994.[1]
