Yamajathakudu is a 1999 Telugu-language fantasy comedy film, produced by Mohan Babu under his Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures banner[2] and directed by N. Shankar.[3] It stars Mohan Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Sakshi Shivanand and music composed by Vandemataram Srinivas.[4]

Plot

The film begins with Sivaji (Mohan Babu), an advocate, falsifying the judiciary by successfully making a breach for money, who is a womanizer too and dotes on his niece Chintu (Baby Niharika). Once he takes up the case of Srinath (Srihari), son of M.P.Narasimham (Tanikella Bharani), accused of molesting and killing their servant. Sivaji manipulates the case and sentences a driver, Babji (Naveen). After that, Sivaji truly falls for a charming girl, Sirisha (Sakshi Shivanand). In her acquaintance, he reforms and quits his past life. During their engagement, Ramulamma (Alapati Lakshmi), Babji's mother, who works as a housekeeper at Sirisha's residence, curses to break up their espousal. Now, Sivaji decides to protect Babji, so he reopens the case. Being cognizant of it, M.P.Narasimham & Srinath slaughters Sivaji and he reaches hell. At the same time, they are celebrating the crowning ceremony of the new Yama Dharma Raja (Rajendra Prasad). Presently, Sivaji creates turmoil and turbulence in hell when he finds that his lifespan is 11 days more. So, Yama sends him back along with a beautiful girl, Puthana (Sadhika), to maintain secrecy. Thereafter, Sivaji is almost in a position to win when the baddies again reattack. In the combat, Chintu loses her eyesight when Ramulamma commits, requesting to transplant her eyes. Meanwhile, the wedding arrangements of Sivaji & Sirisha are in progress at Tirumala when Sivaji decides to cancel the match as his days are less. So, he plays a drama with his ex-girlfriend Swarna (Chandini) to make Sirisha develop hatred towards him, when Puthana also understands his virtue and she too helps him. Yama notices it, hence he lands on earth when, by mistake, he reveals a secret regarding Sirisha's horoscope that her spouse has longevity. Now Sivaji rushes towards Tirumala and Yama chases him. Even M.P.Narasimham & Srinath blocks his way, he ceases them, arrives at Tirumala and ties the wedding chain (Mangalasturam) to Sirisha before Yama's whip (Yama Pasam) reaches him. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note by Lord Venkateswara (N. T. Rama Rao) and Yama Dharma Raja blessing the newly wedded couple.
