Yanick Jeno Nzila Ngoma (born December 27, 1996), known mononymously as YannickJ, is an African singer, songwriter and occasionally rapper. He has a partnership with Awe$ome Music and has cooperated with LAF Entertainment. His debut single, "No Flex", was released on November 7, 2016, and peaked at number 01 on the CN Platform Pyro Music Top 100 chart. His debut studio Mixtape, Nowadays, was released on June 7, 2018.
Early life
YannickJ was born on December 27, 1996, in Pointe Noire, Congo/Brazzaville (Republic of Congo). He spent his childhood in various locations including France, Paris, in China Shanghai and Guangzhou, and now in Wuhan, China, because of his mother MVOUHA and his Dad NZILA NGOMA's career in the Public Domain of Topography. His mother worked in different hostels and finished by selling (luxury clothes and accessories). Everything You Need To Know. In high school, YannickJ studied Electricity and Technology. During his junior year of high school, he fought for his love of music and never gave up on his dreams to become one of the best artists.
Career
YannickJ began writing and creating music in high school; he posted his early works to SoundCloud. In July 2016, he reached one of the most listened-to songs in real time in Wuhan city. His single "No Flex" began charting, while YannickJ was featured in many publications.[1]
In August 2017, Mathu's single "I'm Dope", featuring YannickJ, was released. YannickJ and Mathu linked up on a hot new track, 'I'm Dope' / Ones To Watch.[2] His song, called "Just Do It," was newly made on July 30 and was part of the show Nike Originals Songs, receiving over 1,000 QQMusic plays.[3] In May 2018, YannickJ released the single "Ca$h", which received over 1k Netease Music plays, making it YannickJ's highest charting single.[4].
In 2018, YannickJ's song "Lambo" featured rapper one of Awesome Music Label in Wuhan City (Mingo). As of May 31, 2018, the song peaked over 500 plays in the first two weeks on Netease Music China.[5] He also collaborated with Mathu, MinGo (singer)|MinGo and DJ Elgon on Ca$h Remix.
Influences
YannickJ has said his family and everything around him is his biggest musical inspiration,[6] and has also cited Chris Brown, Travis Scott, Drake, Ty Dolla Sign, Bryson Tiller, 6lack, Justin Bieber as influences.
