Yasin Joyia has been a part of the media industry for the last 28 years, with experience in five international media carrier technologies (Terrestrial Television, Satellite Television, Cable Television, MMDS (Multimedia Distribution System) and IPTV (Internet Protocol Television)).

Early life and education

Yasin Joyia was born on May 5, 1967, in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan, belonging to the Joya or Johiya caste.[1] Mr. Joyia completed his early education from Government High School, Gujranwala, and went on to earn a Certificate in Commerce and a Diploma in Commerce from Government Commercial College, Pakistan. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce from University of Punjab, Lahore, in 1988 and travelled to the Philippines to obtain his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Adamson University, Philippines with high honors.

Career

After completing his education in the Philippines, he began his career as a Marketing Executive at Network Television Marketing (NTM), later promoted to General Manager. After six years of service at NTM, he worked as a Country Head for Young Asia Television (YA TV) for the next two years. In 1999, he became Pakistan's Regional General Manager for PTV World, Weekend World. From 2002 to 2005, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of WorldCall, working with Salman Taseer (Ex. Governor Punjab). He headed Southern Networks Limited (SUN TV) for the next two years, after which he started his own venture, Asian Media Group.

He has served in all international media carrier technologies including Terrestrial Television, Satellite Television, Cable Television, MMDS (Multimedia Distribution System) and IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) in Pakistan.
