Yaye Kene Gassama

Prof. Yaye Kene Gassama is a Senegalese native and a plant biotechnology professor at Senegal's Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (UCAD). She is a well-known scientist with extensive experience in academics, governance, and policymaking. In 2005, she served as Senegal's Minister of Scientific Research, and in 2017, she presided over the African Union's high-level commission on new technologies.[1]
