"Yellow Hearts to Remember" is a support group of bereaved families who use yellow hearts to remember people who have died during the Covid-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom.[1][2]
It was begun by Hannah Gompertz, a student paramedic, and her grandfather, David, to remember her grandmother, Sheila, who died from coronavirus in April 2020. Hannah created a private group on Facebook called 'Yellow Hearts to Remember - COVID-19' where people can share their stories of bereavement and post photos.[3]
The social media campaign is inspired by the yellow ribbons tied to trees in remembrance of those gone to fight in the war.
