Ying Ma (simplified Chinese: 马穎; traditional Chinese: 馬穎) is an American author, and former lawyer.[1] She worked on the Ben Carson presidential campaign in 2016.[2]
Biography[edit]
Ma received her J.D. from Stanford Law School.[2] She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Cornell University.[2]
Ma contributes to the Wall Street Journal's "China Real Time Report" blog.[3] She has worked for The Heartland Institute. Ma worked as a deputy policy director and deputy communications director for Dr. Ben Carson in 2015/2016 when he was still in the race for the Republican primaries 2016.[4]
She managed corporate communications at Sina.com, China's largest web portal, and practiced law at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.[3]
She is the author of a memoir, Chinese Girl in the Ghetto,[5] which she completed while a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution.[6]
