Yogeshwar Amatya (born 3 April 1964) is a Nepali singer, musician, producer, actor, social activist, and photographer, best known for his song "Jaba Sandhya Hunchha" as well as the 1998 album Karai Kara Le.[1] Also in 1998, he released the album Ahile Chaahin Drabya Ko Aaasha Ma, Bastoo, which includes the song "Wakka Dikka".

Amatya participated as a solo artist in the song "Melancholy", which featured 365 other Nepali singers and musicians; the song set the Guinness World Record for "Most Vocal Solos in a Song Recording".[2][3][4]

Family background

Amatya was born in Kathmandu, Nepal. His father, Bhubaneswar Amatya, was the founder and first president of the Nepal professional film company, Nepal Chalchitra Sangha, in 2024.[5] His mother, Lamu Amatya, pursued a nursing education and established the first nursing school for Nepal in Chettrapati. She was also the founder and first president of the Nursing Association of Nepal.[6]
