Yolo, Missouri

Yolo is an unincorporated community in northeast Henry County, Missouri, United States.[1]

The community was located approximately 3.5 miles southeast of Calhoun. It was situated above the north bank of Barker Creek approximately 1.5 miles west of the Henry-Benton county line on a county road just west of Missouri Route Y. Oakland School was also at this location.[2]

History[edit]

A post office called Yolo was established in 1900, and closed one year later in 1901.[3] The community was named by its postmaster, whose son had visited Yolo, California.[4][5]
