Rudy Strong (born August 14, 1986) is an American entertainer better known by his stage name Young Deuces. Known for his interviews, acting, podcasting and music.[1] He started his music career in high school as a member of the hip hop duo Streetz-n-Young Deuces or SNYD. Streetz-n-Young Deuces released their debut album The Future in 2004 as teenagers, which landed them a feature in The Source magazine in their Unsigned Hype section. He currently does voice work for WatchMojo.[2]
Starting in 2017, Young Deuces began releasing a number of freestyles and solo songs while also releasing music with featured artists such as Mickey Factz, Trae The Truth, Michael Christmas & Gerald Walker. On April 30, 2018, he released his first commercial solo album, My Unapologetic Black Thoughts, which was called The Most Zoetic Album of the Year by Sway's Universe, the official website of Sway Calloway.[3]
Early life
Rudy "Young Deuces" Strong was born in 1986 in Milwaukee, though he was raised around the world due to his father being in the military. At a young age, he listened to artists such as Tupac Shakur, Jay-Z, Master P., and Nas, and he started rhyming at the age of ten, inspired by his father who was also an emcee.[4] Stating at a young age he knew he would always become a musician "For me, it was something I felt like I was born into. My Pops was a DJ/Emcee and was known for that in the city. It shaped every aspect of my childhood."[4]
As a teenager, he began working on his own music, creating production on the MTV Music Generator game and recording on a 4 track recorder in his parents' basement. It was then he started to work with his cousin Burgie Streetz to form SNYD and start their imprint EMP Entertainment. Both attended Brown Deer High School in Milwaukee. Beyond music, he is also the host of the geek/hip-hop podcast Geekset Podcast.[5]

2017: Features, singles
In August 2017, on his birthday, Young Deuces released a freestyle single to Rick Ross' song Thug Cry.[6] The song paid homage to his favorite football player of all time, Deion Sanders, as well as staking claim that he is Prime Time in his prime. The single was well received by numerous stations, playlists & DJs during that time.[7]
2018-Present: Albums & Singles
April 30, 2018, his debut Album My Unapologetic Black Thoughts was released. The album had only two features Burgie Streetz & Beverly Ann with production from his in-house producer K. Mel Beatz & AJA Productions. The album was a mixture of spoken word by Young Deuces as well as songs that detailed and depicted the thoughts of a black man in America dealing with a numerous amount of social issues.[8] Being heavily praised for the powerful message that the album gave off as well as the production quality in most reviews.[9]
After the success of the Album, Young Deuces would drop two more songs as missing tracks from the album, the soulful Hear Me Cry featuring the California-based artist Moe Green and Hold it Down a single featuring Burgie Streetz and Boston based rapper Michael Christmas.[10][11]
December 26, 2019, Young Deuces released his second studio album Son of a Soldier : The Story of Dr. Jekyll's Legacy|Son of a Soldier an album that was dedicated to his father and his inspiration on him.[12] The album was inspired from an old rap book that Young Deuces found that his father had written in. This particular book included the first rap he ever remembered as well as a dedication to him as a kid.
Stated RapFest in December 2019, "the book was a love letter of raps to his son that he wanted to share".[13]
When speaking with Edible Milwaukee on their Music and Food series Artist Eats he told them about the impact that rhyme book had on him when he rediscovered it in his parents basement.[14]
Broadcasting career (2017-Present)
In 2017, Young Deuces created the Geekset Podcast, the only podcast that blends Hip-Hop Culture & Geek Culture together in one place, alongside co-hosts Bacardi, Lib and eventually his brother Didge. In 2018, they became an official podcast at the Black Panther themed convention, Wakanda-Con as well as went on to cover major events such as Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, Crunchyroll's Crunchy Roll Expo, and other Comic-Con's around the world.[15] Later that year, Earwolf featured the podcast apart of their Black Voices segment.[16]
During the events of COVID-19 the podcast launched an interview series. 1 on 1's w/Deuces on Youtube that garnered a mass following after the interviews with Jay Ellis, Debra Wilson, Timothy DeLaGhetto, Van Lathan (formerly TMZ), O'Shea Jackson Jr., Jean Ellie (Insecure (TV series) actor) & more.[17] The collective became so influential that they were featured in Forbes announcing their documentary they are working on focusing on being a Black Geek.[18][19]
