Emmanuel Muvhango was born in Alexandra, in Gauteng Province, South Africa. His mother later moved to Musina in Limpopo Province, a neighborhood in Musina (Phase 9), and he grew up under gang influences with his childhood friend PPP Rapper[1], from whom Muvhango lived on the same street. Young Ttyl has told interviewers that he was shot when he was 9[2] years old on his chest, while he was involved in a Gang fight. He started rapping at the age of 11, having been influenced by the kind of lifestyle he was living.
Between 2008 and 2011Young Ttyl dropped his first mixtape song titled Beginning and gave it away for free to the streets.
