Youth for Wildlife Conservation (Y4WC)
Youth for Wildlife Conservation (Y4WC) is a network of early-career conservationists[1] formed during the IFAW Youth Forum for People and Wildlife in 2016[2]. The organization works to provide a platform for early-career wildlife conservationists through peer-to-peer support, work opportunities, skill development and recognition[3].

History[edit]
In September 2016 at the occasion of CITES COP 17[4], IFAW hosted the inaugural Youth Forum for People and Wildlife in South Africa[5]. Thirty-four young conservationists aged between 18 and 25 attended the event to discuss the challenges and approaches in conservation. Spearheaded by IFAW, Y4WC was formed by the delegates and supports a global network of young conservationists by equipping them with training, support and the tools to succeed in becoming leaders in their field[6]. The organization officially launched in May 2017[7].
