Zachary Alan Joyce (born September 17, 2000) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels organization. He played college baseball at the University of Tennessee.
Amateur career
Joyce grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, and attended Farragut High School with his brother Ben.
Joyce and his twin brother, Ben, enrolled at Walters State Community College. As a freshman at Walters State, Joyce made 13 relief appearances with a 1.15 ERA, while racking up 24 strikeouts and issuing only 6 walks in 15.2 innings pitched during their run to the 2019 NJCAA D1 JUCO World Series. Joyce did not play in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Tommy John surgery. Joyce signed to play for Tennessee but didn't play in 2021 or 2022. In 2023, Joyce rejoined the Volunteers baseball program. In 13 appearances he had a 1-0 record, with a 4.35 ERA, pitching 10.1 innings, and with 17 strikeouts.
Professional career
The Los Angeles Angels selected Joyce in the 14th round of the 2023 MLB draft.
Personal life
Joyce's twin brother, Ben, also played at Tennessee and was also selected by the Angels, going in the 3rd round of the 2022 MLB draft.[1]
