Zahid Saeed (Urdu: زاہد سعید) is a Pakistani industrialist and politician associated with Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan. He is the head of more than 8 businesses and trade associations and is interested in social welfare matters.
Political career[edit]
He has twice been the Union Councilor for Union Council-7 in Jamshed Town – Karachi[1], where he worked to fight the land mafia to clear the parks illegally occupied in this area.[2] He was Jamaat-e-Islami's candidate in 2013 elections in National Assembly Seat NA-25.[3] He is contesting for the same seat, in elections 2018 as well.[4][5]
Professional career[edit]
He has been the managing director of Indus Pharma,[6] and also served as the chairman of the pharma body of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry for the year 2017.[7] Zahid was appointed a Governing Body Member of Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI) in July 2017 [8] He has also been the president of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, an association that is known for trying to resolve telecommunication problems of the Korangi trade area [9]

Zahid is known for his social services, particularly for the institutions he has helped establishing.
Green Crescent Trust (GCT)[edit]
Established in 1995, the Green Crescent Trust was a brain child of Zahid, which established the first school in Gadap area of Karachi. The trust now has established a network of 145 schools across Karachi, serving more than 36,000 poor students. The institution has also arranged drinking water supply in 200 villages of Pakistan – thus earning an 'innovation award' from South Asian Triple Helix Association (SATHA). Zahid is serving as the CEO of GCT.[10]
Center for Educational Research and Development (CERD)[edit]
CERD is a 'teach the teachers' training project operating under the GCT, which has trained over 13,000 teachers in its 23 years of operations.
