Zak Hydari is a British businessman and financier who is the chief executive of Rasmala Group, an alternative investment firm with approximately US$2 billion in assets.

Education[edit]

Hydari completed an MBA degree at Cranfield School of Management in 2004. In 2018, Hydari was named as the winner of a Distinguished Alumnus of the Year award which is the school's most prestigious award. [1]

The award ceremony will be held in London on 11 July 2018 and hosted by the Chief Executive and Vice Chancellor of Cranfield, Professor Sir Peter Gregson.

Career[edit]

From 2004 until 2011 he was chief executive of HBG Holdings, a special situations private equity firm. In 2011, Hydari made a successful hostile bid to takeover a British bank called European Islamic Investment Bank Plc. He subsequently acquired Rasmala Holdings Limited, one of the Middle East region's oldest investment banks and merged the two banks to form Rasmala Group.[2]

Personal life[edit]

Hydari is based in Dubai and has a home in Chelsea, London.
