Zephyr is a musical project started in 2000 by the London-based composer and producer Elizabeth Henshaw, involving musicians from a variety of different backgrounds.[1] In 2001, their first album, Zephyr, was released. In 2007, their second album, Flame, was released in Southeast Asia, distributed by Universal.

Henshaw trained classically as a pianist and began writing at the age of seven. She developed a keen interest in the music of other cultures which has influenced her writing considerably. Her music is recognised both for its melodic strength and its rhythmic and metric sophistication.[2] Henshaw has worked with EMI Classics UK, with her song "Prayer" as the first track on Becky Jane Taylor's album By Your Side.

Two Zephyr albums have been released by ORiGiN Music and a third is currently[when?] in the making. Both albums became favourites on ABC Classic FM (Australia)[3] and have been used widely in Australian TV series as well as continuing to appear on a number of international compilations.[citation needed]
