Zhang Bo (Chinese: 张波), son of late Mr. Zhang Shiping, is a Chinese businessperson.[1] and the current Chairman, Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shandong Weiqiao Aluminum & Power Co Ltd.He also covers the role of director and chairman of Shandong Hongqiao New Materials Co Ltd and director of Hongqiao (Hong Kong) International Trading Co Ltd.
Zhang Bo has been elected in 2015 as the director of Hongqiao Investment (Hong Kong) Ltd; serves as the chairman (since September 2018) of Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group, the director (since May 2019) of China Hongqiao Investment Co Ltd , and the director (since June 2019) of Shandong Hongtuo Industrial Co Ltd[2]
He succeeded his father Zhang Shiping assuming the chairmanship of China Hongqiao in 2019[3][4].
Career[edit]
Graduated with a Master’s Degree in software engineering from Wuhan University in June 2005, Zhang Bo joined Shandong Hongqiao in 2006 as the chairman and general manager of Shandong Weiqiao Aluminum & Power Co Ltd[5].
From April 1998 to February 1999, he served as the deputy general manager of Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group. From March 1999 to September 2006, he served successively as the general manager, executive director and chairman of Weiqiao Textile Co Ltd. (“Weiqiao Textile,” listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2003, stock code: 2698.HK)[6]. He was a director of Weihai Weiqiao Textile Co Ltd. from July 2001 to May 2010, and the chairman and general manager of Binzhou Weiqiao Science and Technology Industrial Park Co Ltd. (“Binzhou Industrial Park”) from November 2001 to May 2010.[7]
Zhang Bo promoted and supported China Hongqiao Group's entry in the SMB-Winning Consortium, an international bauxite consortium that participates heavily in Guinea’s economic and social development[8].
Recognition[edit]
On May 12, 2020, the Zhang Bo family ranked 91st on the 2020 List of the 500 Thiess with a new fortune of Rmb 27.75bn.[9]
In 2010, he was selected as the "National Model Worker" and represented the 12th People's Congress of Shandong Province.[10]
Zhang Bo was named to Fortune’s “China’ ’s Most Influential Business Leaders in 2020” List on April on April 13, 2020[11]
Zhang Bo was listed 45th on the 2020 Forbes China Philanthropy List released on July 25th[12]
In November 2020, Zhang Bo was awarded the title of 'National Advanced Individual for Private Economy in the Fight against COVID-19'[13]
