Zoë Belkin is a Canadian actress who is known for playing Rebecca Harper on The Latest Buzz [1] [2] [3] [4] and as Tina Blake in Carrie (2013 film) . She also guest-starred on Degrassi: The Next Generation as Athena.

Personal life[edit]

Zoë's first introduction to acting was through her grandmother, Beverly Schechtman, an Emmy winning makeup artist, who worked on Second City Television for the likes of Eugene Levy and Martin Short.

At the age of 12, Zoë got an agent and began auditioning for roles, earning her first role on the TV show The Latest Buzz at the age of 13. During Zoë’s first two years at Toronto’s Forest Hill Collegiate Institute, she was also in the series The Latest Buzz. Often away from classes for up to five weeks at a time, she worked with a tutor between takes. She credits her high school drama teacher for helping her juggle her passion for acting and her studies.

She has worked alongside Julianne Moore, Chloe Grace Moretz, Abigail Breslin, Mira Sorvino, Alexandra Shipp[5] , Amanda Crew and Adam Brody.[6]

She worked with Sheila McCarthy in the horror movie Isabelle.[7] [8]

Her movie Perfect Sisters is based on an actual murder case that happened in Toronto in 2004.[9] [10]

Her movie Kiss and cry is based on the true story of Carley Elle Allison, a competitive figure skater, who suffered from a rare form of cancer.[11]

Zoë also excels in other aspects of creative arts. She is an avid painter in oil and acrylics, writes poetry and short stories.
