Zomaron Inc. is a fintech company providing payment processing services to businesses and registered charities across North America. Headquartered in London, Ontario, the company's software and hardware products allow merchants to accept debit and credit transactions as well as eCommerce payments.
History[edit]
Zomaron was founded in 2008 by Tarique Al-Ansari and Joseph Jongsma, former salespeople for debit machine companies.[1] The concept for the company originated after Al-Ansari's exposure to debit and credit processing services as a partner in an online food delivery company.[2] Zomaron started as an independent payment processing provider, operating out of Al-Ansari's basement.[1]
In December 2013, the company was acquired by Posera HDX.[3] In April 2016, Zomaron was sold back to its previous ownership.[4]
In 2019, Zomaron rebranded as Paystone after acquiring two Canadian companies, POS West and NXGEN Canada, as well another company DataCandy.[5]
