Zoom Travel Insurance is an Australian online-first travel insurance brand, offering policies to residents and temporary residents of Australia and New Zealand, travelling domestically and internationally. It is a trading name of the Insurance Geeks Pty Ltd[2], and a member of the Coffre-Fort agency[3], which covers over two million customers through direct travel insurance brands[4]. The company acquired travel insurer Kango Cover in 2019[5].

Operations

Zoom Travel Insurance is headquartered in Sydney, Australia. Their policies are underwritten by Certain Underwriters of Lloyd's[6]. As well as offering policies to citizens and permanent residents of Australia and New Zealand, the company provides cover for temporary residents living in either country, including 457 visa and working holiday visa holders[7].

Awards

In its second year of operation, Zoom Travel Insurance won the 2018 CANSTAR award for Outstanding Value Domestic Travel Insurance[8].

Media

The company received considerable media attention after providing cover to a seven-month-old baby who contracted meningococcal disease while holidaying in Thailand with her family[9][10]. The company paid over $113,000AUD in medical and travel expenses to assist the family[11]. The baby's mother credited the company with saving her daughter's life[12].

Zoom Travel Insurance reportedly paid $59,000 for medical expenses and evacuation for an 81-year-old Australian man who suffered a heart attack while on a cruise in the Pacific Ocean[13][14].

The company was also publicly thanked by Australian filmmakers they assisted while attending a festival in Korea[15]
