Informatics is an Indian e-information company based in Bangalore, India, that was founded by N V Sathyanarayana in 1980.[3] It started as a firm providing information in the pre-internet era through telex facility.[4] It owns a collection of Subscription Based services focused largely on scientific and academic research.[5] Its major products and services are database and content driven, catering solutions to research community in India.[6]
In 2001, Informatics developed its flagship product J-Gate.[7]
Around 2006, they started offering free version of J-Gate named Open J-Gate[8] and also introduced a platform for business community named India Business Insight.[9][10]
