Ágúst Bjarnason
Ágúst Bjarnason is an Icelandic actor,[1] known to locals as the face of the HHI lottery commercials [2] and for three dozen Icelandic film and tv projects during the past decade. He recently made his debut in Hollywood and is known in the business for working on Fast & Furious 8 (2017), Kung Fu Yoga (2017) and The Aquatic Effect (2016).[3]
Bjarnason was raised in Reykjavík, Iceland and is the youngest of three children. He began working at the Reykjavík Airport as a teenager. He became one of the youngest people ever to receive a pilot license to fly solo. By age 19 he was working as a presenter at FM957,[4] Iceland's highest rated radio station for popular music. Later he completed a degree in Business Administration[5] and worked for a couple of years at the Bank of Iceland. After some success in television and films he moved to Los Angeles to study at the University of Southern California.[6] He has been involved in numerous projects and has been acting as a side-profession. He has completed the Reykjavík Marathon, and made a documentary about the event in 2008.[7]
