Lilu (Armenian: Լիլու, birth name Lilit Ghukasyan, Armenian: Լիլիթ Ղուկասյան, born 5 July 1982, Yerevan, Armenian SSR, USSR) is an Armenian singer,musical artist and actress.

Biography[edit]

Lilu was born in Yerevan, Soviet Armenia, on July 5, 1982.In 2000, she graduated from secondary school No. 4 in Armavir. Her first music video was released in 2007 together with Apricota (now DerHova).

Education[edit]

In 2002-2004, she studied at the State Music College named after Romanos Melikyan in Yerevan. In 2004-2006, she studied at the vocal department of the State Song Theater of Armenia in the class of Armen Gevorgyan...[1]

Career[edit]

In 2005 and 2006, Lilu participated in the festival of Armenian pop songs "Krunk", organized by the Public Television Company of Armenia. In 2007, Lilu entered the Armenian show business with her hit "Tac Ser". She starred in the TV series of the Armenian TV company Armenia "The captives of fate" and "Yere1", as well as in the international TV project Fort Boyard[2].In 2009, Lilu took part in the international song contest "Slavianski Bazaar" in Vitebsk,representing Armenia[3][4]. In the same year, she also took part in the qualifying round of the Eurovision Song Contest in Armenia.[5] On October 20, 2021, together with Armen Petrosyan, Moso Karapetyan, etc., she took the stage and played her first debut comedy performance called "Chamadan" in Los Angeles at the Concert Venue "Lanterman Auditorium".[6]

Awards and medals[edit]

In 2014 participated in the Baltic Voyage International Festival of Children and Youth Art to the Stockholm and in the nomination vocal (18 and older) Lilu won the Grand Prix.[7][8][9] In 2015, with the support of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation and representation in Armenia, the 12th International Youth Educational Gathering of Military Sports Organizations "UNION-2015 - Heirs of Victory" was opened on the basis of the Main Sports Complex of the city of Tsakhkadzor.Singer Lilu also took part there, and the organizing committee decided to award her a medal for Valor.[10][11] In October 2019, the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Los Angeles, headed by Ambassador Armen Baibourtian[12], awarded Lilu with a certificate of appreciation for the participation in the concert dedicated to the visit of Prime Minister of Armenia, H.E. Nikol Pashinyan.[13][14]
