"10 Out Of 10" is a song by Dutch DJ Oliver Heldens, featuring vocals from Australian singer-songwriter Kylie Minogue. The collaboration was released on 5 April 2023.
Background and release[edit]
On 6 March 2023, one of the song's writers, Sarah Hudson posted about a list of artists on her "dream gag fantasy bucket list".[1] On 26 March, Heldens posted on Instagram, in a similar iPhone notes style, a list of five female artists, stating he had an upcoming collaboration with one of them.[2]
On 29 March, A video was uploaded to YouTube, featuring Heldens discussing his HI-LO Project, and an upcoming single, where he confirmed that Minogue was the vocalist on the track. On the same day, both Minogue and Heldens announced the single on their social media, posting a twenty-four-second teaser of the song.[3] On 1 April, Heldens premiered an extended version of the song on his Heldeep Radio.[4]
Composition[edit]
"10 Out Of 10" was written by Minogue, Heldens, Sarah Hudson, JHart, Liana Banks and Jackson Foote, while production was handled by Heldens and Foote. Production for the song was "inspired by 80s synth pop & disco, 90s dance, and 00s Eurodance", working in a "modern dance music twist".[5] Heldens incorporated "infectious synths" and " layers in disco-inspired sound design" to "work in tandem with Minogue's stentorian vocals".[6]
