123 Design was created in 1999 by Leo Riza (a.k.a Aslan Riza). A former founder of R&R Associates (1999) and TimeSet (2012), he holds patents in Stethescope Sanitizing Device, Location based Social Media System, Lotion Application Machine, Fluid Application Apparatus, Adjustable Additive Cartridge System, Laser Scanning Device, Beverage Container and Optical Scanner.

The company has its own terminology for its design approach. The 11-Step Cycle dictates its approach to general product development. The cycle is believed to be a backward-forward approach to development in general. It dictates that inventors, design and engineering companies, or manufacturing companies can approach any project either way and still become successful.
