Zonar Systems is an American telematics company that produces fleet tracking and management solutions.[2][3][4] The company's tracking technology uses data generated by engines, and on-board sources such as GPS systems.[5] Zonar holds over 90 patents in data collection, processing, and tracking technology.[6] The company is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.[7]
History[edit]
The company was founded in 2001 by Brett Brinton, Bill Brinton, Eric Manegold, Dan Mayer and Mike McQuade.[8] In June 2015, Zonar Systems opened a new product engineering office in downtown Seattle.[9] In July 2015, the company received $50 million in investment from Daimler Trucks North America.[10][11][12] [13]In October 2016, Continental AG acquired an 81% stake in Zonar Systems, with the terms of the deal remaining undisclosed.[1][14][15] In December 2016, the company announced the appointment of Ian McKerlich as the new CEO and president, replacing co-founder Brett Binton who remained at the company as an advisor.[16][17][7]
In November 2017, Zonar Systems awarded $500,000 in "technology grants" to 33 school districts around the United States.[18]
Solutions[edit]
