Sap is an American grunge rock band from Austin, Texas founded in 2023. By lead singer and guitarist Evan Fundora[1], the band was first was listed on Craigslist By Evan to find a drummer and a bassist before recruiting Hank Barna on the bass and Jared Cox on the drums.
Later in 2023, Sap released their first album, Lard Baby, with the label music CDBaby. Their sound is often compaired to the grunge band Nirvana due to their similar loud and quiet choruses. In 2024, Sap released their first single, Bleed In The Sun.
In 2025, Sap released their most popular single, Taste The Rain. Alongside B For Boy, Pleasantries and High Chair.
History
2023: Formation and First Year
Singer and guitarist Evan Fundora in Houston, Texas, played in a highschool band and performming on local bars, but as he puts it, there wasn’t a scene. So he moved to Austin, Texas to start a band, because in his words "Everybody in Austin lives close to each other which makes the scene a lot better."[2]
In Austin, Evan started a Craigslist page to find a drummer and a bassist, later, Jared Cox and Hank Barna found the page and joined the band.
