2003 WPSL season
The 2003 Women's Premier Soccer League season was the 7th season of the WPSL. The league consisted of 14 teams split into 3 regional divisions. There were also 3 "provisional" teams that did not play a full schedule and were not eligible to qualify for the playoffs.
Utah Spiders finished the season as national champions, beating California Storm 2-1 in the WPSL Championship game.[1]

Competition format
WPSL was divided into 3 divisions (North, South, and the newly added East), comprising 14 teams. All teams play a regular season schedule of 14 or 9 games, up to seven home and seven away, mostly within their division. The champion of all three divisions, as well as a single wildcard, qualify for the national playoffs. The national playoff are a 4-team single elimination bracket where the winner is crowned the league champion.
