Santiago Island League (South)[edit]
The 2014-15 season[2] Académica da Praia started in the number one spot for eight weeks up to the tenth week with the exceptions of the second and third week which they were sixth and fifth. Their rankings dropped to second in week 11, then fifth for the next four weeks, then fourth in week 14, then fifth again, then sixth in week 18, then fifth again and rost up to fourth again in the final week where they would finish.[1]
Being first, they would ranked higher than the city's greatest club Sporting Praia for eleven weeks and the second greatest CD Travadores almost throughout the season except for week 2.
Their first match was a victory that was over Varanda, the club lost to Desportivo in the second week, the club stayed being first having a three-game winning streak defeating the newcomer Eugênio Lima, Delta and Boavista, their first draw was with Vitória, then Sporting Praia, Académica would only have draws with that club. Another three game winning streak took place starting on February 15 and defeated Garridos, Celtic and Travadores. Académica went to a three-game losing streak and losing to ADESBA, Varanda and Desportivo Praia. Académica again defeated Eugênio Lima and Delta but lost to Boavista, Académica's final loss. Académica defeated Vitória on April 3, on April 15 and 23, the first two of four weeks added to the season, the club went on a two-game winning streak and defeated Garridos and Celtic. Académica went into a draw with Travadores. Their final match of the season was on May 8 and defeated ADESBA 1-0.[1]
Académica Praia finished with 43 points, shares with their point total made in the 2005-06 Premier Division season. Since the introduction of the three point system in West Africa in the mid-1990s, their point total were second behind 45 made in the 2003-04 season. A season later, their total became third behind both the 2003-04 season and the 2016-17 season with 45 points. This total is now fourth as it is currently behind their 47 points made as of the 18th round of the 2017-18 season.
Académica Praia scored 32 goals, double than last season, 18 were scored at home and 14 were scored away, though the club had an extra win at home. Académica conceded 18 goals, of which 11, nearly a third were conceded at home.
