On July 25, 2016, a shooting occurred outside the Club Blu Bar and Grill nightclub in Fort Myers, Florida, United States. Two people were killed, and 18 others were injured.[2]
Events[edit]
Three suspects were arrested by the Lee County Sheriff's Office shortly afterwards.[3] The venue was reportedly hosting an all-ages event for teenagers, and identification was not required.[4] Victims ranged from 12 to 27 years of age.[2]
Reactions[edit]
City officials along with law enforcement agencies held a press conference after the shooting. At the conference, Florida Governor Rick Scott pledged to help the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice. The Attorney General of Florida Pam Bondi called the attack "truly heartbreaking" and informed that her office is offering assistance to the victims and their families.[5]
