Santiago South Premier Division[edit]
Desportivo Praia started the regional 2017-18 season with two straight losses before they made a win over the newcomer Tira Chapéu on November 17, another was made over the historically mighty Travadores a week later. A draw with almighty Sporting was followed. On December 10, they defeated AD Ribeira Grande before a loss to Académica was made. Their December 23 match with Boavista was delayed due to no referees appeared in the match, rescheduled for January 9, they lost 3-1. Desportivo made another win on December 20 over Benfica, then a two-goal draw with Eugénio Lima was made at the fifty day of 2018 in January. Recently Desportivo made a goal draw with ADESBA and is fifth with 15 points, three ahead of ADESBA and nine less than almighty Sporting. Desportivo failed to make another win as they lost again to Tchadense, this time with the score 2-1, the club's fifth of the season but is still fifth, with 11 points behind fourth placed Sporting. Another draw was next with a goal made with Celtic. Desportivo now has 16 points, shared alongside Tchadense, Ribeira Grande and ADESBA though their position dropped to 7th as they scored 13 goals. A round later, win number four came to Desportivo and made it the club's highest scoring match (third overall in Santiago South) of the season with the score 0-5 over newcomer Tira Chapéu and returned the 5th position to Desportivo and had 18 goals scored in total, a second straight win (fifth win of the season) was made on February 10 over CD Travadores who once had their successful seasons up to the late 2010s and has 22 points, at the time it was six less than Sporting's and scored more than 20 goals. In the next round, Desportivo suffered their next loss in four matches, to almighty Sporting with the score 2-0 and was nine point less than Sporting. Desportivo's 22 points are shared with Tchadense and Bairro, the only difference is Desportivo had 21 goals, a goal more than Tchadense. Desportivo suffered a second straight loss and no a goal scored in the last two matches, they lost to Ribeira Grande 0-2 on February 25, they also lost a position to Tchadense and is now 6th, their goal totals were shared with Bairro. Desportivo was even Steven to their goals scored and conceded. Straight loss number three came as they lost to the mighty Académica at the 18th round and their goal conceded was one more than their goals scored. Their 22 points totals are now shared with Ribeira Grande and no longer with Tchadense. No minimal relief came as they lost to another powerful club of Boavista 0-4 and made their fourth straight loss and four weeks without another goal scored. Desportivo had nine points above 11th placed Tira Chapéu which was also the relegation zone. Desportivo was seventh with 22 points alongside Ribeira Grande, they had two goals more than that club. Desportivo suffered their fifth straight loss as they lost 1-2 to Benfica on March 20, nonetheless the club entirely escaped a chance of being relegated. Desportivo remains seventh with 22 points, their difference is 22 goals over Ribeira Grande's 19. Desportivo's goals are also being shared with Bairro and ninth placed Travadores, also sharing is their six wins with Travadores. On March 25, Desportivo defeated Eugênio Lima with the score 1-4 and threw that club into the Second Division for next season. Their 25 points were shared with Ribeira Grande and Bairro, Desportivo conceded 29 goals made the club sixth One more match to go and was with Bairro, it ended in a goal draw again with that club and finished seventh with 26 points sharing Bairros', the main difference was they scored 27 goals, four more than that club.
