The 2023 Mexican Congress alien corpses display is a public hearing took place at the Mexican Congress of the Union on 13 September 2023. The proceedings were presided over by Jaime Maussan, a prominent Mexican journalist and ufologist.[1] During the hearing, Jaime Maussan asserted to be two purported alien corpses were showcased, claimed to be approximately 1,000 years old and initially discovered in Peru.[2]

Event[edit]

This event was a part of the Mexican Congress' inaugural hearing on UFOs. During the proceedings, Maussan presented the purported alien corpses, which were encased in glass display containers.[3] According to the information provided, these remains were reportedly discovered in Cusco, Peru, in 2017, and that Radiocarbon dating indicated that they could potentially be as ancient as 1,800 years old.[4][5][6][7]

Maussan asserted that over 30% of the DNA extracted from the specimens was "unknown," suggesting that these beings are "not part of our terrestrial evolution." X-rays of the specimens were also displayed during the hearing. Experts[who?] who testified under oath claimed that one of the specimens seemed to contain structures resembling eggs or ovaries, while the other had implants crafted from uncommon metals, such as osmium.[8]

Reception and criticism[edit]

The event generated significant interest; however, the Mexican Congress did not affirm that the materials presented by Maussan conclusively originated from "aliens."[9] Furthermore, some of Maussan's previous claims have been debunked, which has led to skepticism surrounding his latest assertions. Scientific rigor and further investigation would be necessary to establish the veracity of these claims.[8]
