The Nine Freedoms is a book written by George King (January 23, 1919 - July 12, 1997) in 1963 as a result of the authors alleged ability to self-precipitate a 'deep Samadhic Trance state' so that a series of 'Mental Transmissions' could be given through him as part of a 'Cosmic Mission for world Salvation and Enlightenment'.

Special Power Operation[edit]
According to the Aetherius Society, the 'Nine Freedoms Transmissions' were delivered as part of a series 'special power operations' being conducted by the 'Cosmic Masters' using the George King as a 'karmic agent' for the radiation of spiritual energies while he was in 'deep Samadhic trance state'. While in this Meditative State certain energies were allegedly radiated through him, as well as through the attendies present at the Nine Freedoms 'Transmissions', for the benefit of the world and America in particular, which according to 'Cosmic Sources' was due for a major earthquake at that time. This energy was radiated, according to the textbook, from 'Satellite No 3.
The Responsibility of receiving Great Wisdom[edit]
Sometime at the beginning of the Nine Freedoms Transmissions George King made an appeal on behalf of the attendies that they should receive a little Cross blessed by the 'Master Jesus'. Prior to the delivery of the Eighth Freedom a 'communicator' whom the society regards as a prominent member of the Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth, called Saint Goo-ling, informed the attendies that this request would be granted. Subsequently after the delivery of the Ninth Freedom on March 15, 1961, a number of little crosses were allegedly blessed by the 'Master Jesus' through George King, as a channel, for the attendies.
Regarding the receiving of these crosses Saint Goo-ling is recorded as saying:
Do not forget that acceptance of these little Crosses also makes you a disciple of the Great Master Jesus, so that you must always behave in the manner befitting a disciple, to spread His message and also, the Message of the Cosmic Masters, throughout the land.
Teachings for the New Age[edit]
After the delivery of the Ninth Freedom on March 15, 1961, George King claims that a 'man from Mars' codenamed, Mars Sector 6, summarised the mystic teaching as a necessary move to stimulate and raise the consciousness of the few thinkers, adding:
Use this information well, for it will change you. For it will cause multitudinous thoughts to come into your mind. For this information will be the dawning of Wisdom for you.[1]
Overview[edit]
As an authoritative spiritual textbook for the 'New Age' the reader is given a brief personal background to the author as 'Doctor George King' before the founding of the International Metaphysical order called The Aetherius Society which published this and other works by the same author.[2][3] The main body of the text consists of a series of 'Cosmic Transmissions' allegedly received by George King while in a deep Meditative State from a Cosmic Being known by the Atherian's as Mars Sector 6.[4] In each 'Transmission' Mars Sector 6 is introduced by the alleged terrestrial Ascended Master known as Saint Goo-Ling. It is only in the final 'Ninth Freedom' that there is a brief 'Transmission' by what the Aetherian's claim to be the Master Jesus, whom they believe to be a Cosmic Being from the higher 'spiritual' realms of Venus.[5]
Introduction[edit]
The author begins his introduction to 'The Nine Freedoms' with what he claims to be the 'True' history of mankind from a planet called Maldek (which now exists as the Asteroid belt according to the Aetherius Society) to the planet Earth. George King claims that what is now a dead and lifeless world in the asteroid belt was once a living beautiful planet until mankind had discovered the deadly potential of the hydrogen bomb. Through gross mutation George king states we were 'born' onto a world that agreed to hold-up Her rightful place in the Cosmic Scheme so that the race of intelligences now incarnating could be afforded the necessary experiences demanded by karma. George King describes a brief synopsis of mankind's rise and full from grace from Lumeria to Atlantis and the point at which mankind today is at a similar crossroads between detroying himself once again through ignorance and apathy or rising to greater heights by understanding and co-operating with the Wisdom of the Masters.
The Cosmic Concept[edit]
According to the Aetherius Society the 'Cosmic Masters' had chosen George King, as 'Primary Terrestrial Mental Channel',[6] to give mankind a deeper and fuller expression of the Ancient Wisdom in the dawn of the much foretold 'New Age'. The Nine Freedoms, according to George King, describes man's future journey through evolution from this Earth and beyond, into Cosmic Existence, where new experiences are gained, and greater opportunities to Serve, open-up new vistas to the evolving intelligence. George King begins this Cosmic Appreciation with his introduction to the main text where he expresses his firm belief that this Earth, and indeed all the planets in this Solar System, are 'advanced cosmic Beings' in their own right. After a brief occult history of mankind on this Earth George King then presents a concise theme on mankind's responsibilities to this planet and all life that dwells upon 'Her' as well as his future existence on Earth as declared by 'the Lords'.[7][8]

Conclusion[edit]
From a theosophical perspective 'The Nine Freedoms' emphasises the mystagogic nature of the Aetherius Society as an Initiation into the 'mysteries' for both its members and non-members alike in the degree to which their teachings might be understood and practiced in their daily lives. A case study by the University of Stirling first published in 1974, and made available online on August 5, 2011, describes in-depth, the mystagogic formation of the Aetherius Society from a sociological viewpoint.[9]
