A.K. Sharma
Arvind Kumar Sharma (A.K. Sharma) (born 1962) is an Indian former bureaucrat and vice president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Uttar Pradesh unit.[1] [2] [3]
Early life and education[edit]
Arvind Kumar Sharma was born in Muhammadabad area in Mau district of Uttar Pradesh Indian on April 11, 1962. He done his schooling from his home district and completed his graduation from Allahabad University. He joined the civil services after his post-graduation in 1988 and, become IAS officer with the Gujarat cadre.[2]
Career[edit]
Sharma started his career as a civil servant in 1988. His first posting was a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM). In 1995, he took charge as the District Magistrate in Mehsana Gujarat. In 2001 Sharma joined the chief minister’s office as a secretary and remained there till 2014.[4] Sharma worked for the Gujarat Government in various positions including District Development Officer in Vadodara, Managing Director of Industrial Extension Bureau, and the CEO of Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB).
He also contributed in setting up the Gujarat section of dedicated freight corridor and Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project as well as Dholera special investment region.[5]
Working with Prime Minister of India[edit]
Sharma remained CM Narendra Modi secretary until 2014 when Modi became the Prime Minister of India[6] In 2014 Sharma joined as a joint secretary of PMO and latter promoted to the additional secretary rank in 2017. After his long stint in PMO, Sharma get charge as a Secretary of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).[7]
Retirement and entry into politics[edit]
A few days after his voluntary retirement, Sharma joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh and become vice president of Bharatiya Janata Party.
