AI LINK is an artificial intelligence platform for journalists, developed by the South Korean business newspaper Seoul Economic Daily. It creates newsletters, video, and an English-language edition from a single written article.[1][2]
Background
AI LINK was developed by the paper's Future Strategy Department. The Korea Press Foundation supported its development for two years through a program for digital media services.[2] It consists of four engines. AI NOVA assists journalists with tasks such as headline suggestions, converting press releases into articles, translating foreign news, and copy editing. AI PRISM is a newsletter service that recommends and summarizes articles for eight defined reader types. AI WAVE converts text articles into video and podcasts, and AI GLOBE translates articles into English.[2][1]
The publisher states that journalists and desk editors review all AI output before publication, following a human-in-the-loop editorial process.[2]
Recognition
In February 2026, AI LINK shared the grand prize in the digital service and business category at the third Digital Journalism Innovation Awards, organized by the Korea Online Newspaper Association. According to the organizer, the award cited the platform's move to an AI-based newsroom system spanning production, personalization, video, and overseas distribution.[1]
At the WAN-IFRA Digital Media Awards Asia-Pacific 2026, AI LINK won gold in the Best AI-Driven News Product, Format or Strategy category; it was the first gold awarded to a Korean news organization in this competition.[2]
At the global Digital Media Awards, announced during the 77th World News Media Congress in Marseille in June 2026, AI LINK won the same category, chosen from 811 entries across twelve categories and six regions.[3][4]
