Artms (stylized in all caps as ARTMS; Korean: 아르테미스; RR: Artemis) is a South Korean girl group project under Modhaus. The project consists of five members: Heejin, Haseul, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry.

Artms was revealed on March 31st, 2023 on their official website.[1] The website contained a 40 second audio teaser accessed by clicking the group's logo.[2]

Name[edit]

The name Artms is inspired by NASA's Artemis program, intended to return to the Moon and send the first woman and the first person of color to land on the Moon, as well as the Ancient Greek goddess, Artemis.

History[edit]

2016–2023: Pre-debut and LOONA[edit]

In October 2016, as part of a pre-debut project, each member of ARTMS was introduced as a part of LOONA through promotional solo singles and music videos over the following 18 months. LOONA debuted on August 19, 2018, with the extended play (EP) [+ +], supported by the lead single "Favorite" and the title track "Hi High".

By February 2023, all LOONA members had filed lawsuits to terminate their contracts with their agency.[3][4] On January 13, 2023, it was reported that Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry had been granted preliminary injunctions against their contracts with Blockberry Creative.[5] They then went on to sign with Modhaus on March 17, 2023.[6]

2023: Introductions, re-debut of Odd Eye Circle, and solo activities[edit]

On April 15, 2023, Modhaus introduced Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry as part of the Artms project.[7] On June 20th, 2023, Modhaus announced that member Haseul had signed an exclusive contract with the company and will be joining Artms.[8]

The sub-unit Odd Eye Circle, consisting of Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry, re-debuted on July 12, 2023 with the extended play Version Up.[9]

On October 26, 2023, Haseul released the digital single Plastic Candy.[10]She also held a series of concerts entitled Music Studio 81.8Hz from October 26 until October 29, 2023.[11]

On October 31, 2023, Heejin released her first extended play titled K.[12]

2024–Present: Debut with Dall (Divine All Love & Live)[edit]

On February 19, 2024, The group's first full album was announced via social media with a schedule for the album roll out. 4 single will be released before the full album. The first single, "Birth" will be released on March 29th, the second on April 14th, the third on April 25th, and the fourth on May 10th. The full album will be released on May 31st. All of the singles names are unknown until release, excluding Birth.[13]
