A Christmas Story Christmas is an upcoming Christmas comedy film directed by Clay Kaytis from a script by Nick Schenk (who also executive produces). It is a sequel to the 1983 film A Christmas Story and the second sequel to that movie, after A Christmas Story 2 (which has no connection to). Peter Billingsley reprises his role as Ralphie Parker (who also produces alongside Vince Vaughn, alongside Ian Petrella, Scott Schwartz, R. D. Robb, and Zack Ward reprising their roles as Randy Parker, Flick, Schwartz, and Scut Farkus, respectively. In addition, Erinn Hayes, River Drosche, and Julianna Layne play Ralphie's wife and kids, with Julie Hagerty playing Mrs. Parker (replacing Melinda Dillon, who retired from acting in 2007). The film, set 30 years after the original film during the 1970s, follows the now grown-up Ralphie returning to his childhood home with his family for Christmas, following the recent death of his father (aka The Old Man), to give his kids a magical Christmas like the one he had as a child and reconnect with childhood friends along the way. Principal photography commenced in late February 2022 in Hungary and the Republic of Bulgaria.
A Christmas Story Christmas is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 17, 2022 on HBO Max by Warner Bros. Pictures.[1] The film will be dedicated to the memory of Darren McGavin (who played Ralphie's Old Man in the original film), who died on February 25, 2006 at the age of 83.[2]
