Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles is an upcoming American documentary/animated concert film scheduled to be released to Disney+ on September 3, 2021. Directed by Robert Rodriguez and co-directed by Patrick Osborne, it stars American singer Billie Eilish who performs songs from her second studio album Happier Than Ever (2021) at the Hollywood Bowl. She is supported by a number of musical guests, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic (conducted by Gustavo Dudamel and arranged by David Campbell), the Los Angeles Children's Chorus, Brazilian guitarist Romero Lubambo and Eilish's brother Finneas O'Connell.[1][2][3]
The film also serves as a tribute to Los Angeles, the city where Eilish was born and raised, which is portrayed through several animated segments and interviews.[4] The film was produced by Interscope Films and Darkroom Productions, in association with Nexus Studios and Aron Levine Productions.[5] Its release was officially announced on July 22, 2021, alongside the release of a 39-second teaser trailer.[6]
