A Loud House Christmas is a live-action Christmas television film based on the Nickelodeon animated series, The Loud House. The film is directed by Jonathan Judge, written by Liz Maccie, and stars Wolfgang Schaeffer as lead character Lincoln Loud while Catherine Taber and Brian Stepanek portray the live-action versions of their characters Katherine Mulligan and Lynn Loud Sr. The franchise's first live-action work and feature-length film, it aired on Nickelodeon on November 26, 2021, and started streaming on Paramount+ the same day.[1][2] It will be followed up by a live-action series, featuring several cast members from this special.[3]

Plot[edit]

The Loud Family are decorating for Christmas as Lincoln mention that Christmas can get pretty hectic in the Loud House. He walks out of his room and Laun slaps a pie at Lincoln's face where she states that is doing her 12 pranks of Christmas. Lynn is preparing for a football game, Lucy is collecting the dead timbers from the tree, Lisa is working to make it snow, Luna is working on a song, Leni is making a sparkly dress while using the mannequin Tanya, Lana is dressing up Hops, Lola is preparing for a pageant, Lily is wanting to light the town's Christmas tree, Lynn Sr. is working on figgy pudding, and Rita is putting up the outside Christmas decorations. Lincoln gets a package from a delivery man named Bill. Everyone gathers in the kitchen for breakfast except for Lori who is away at Fairway University. Lori mentions on the video chat that it would too much to come down and Lincoln disagrees with it as Christmas is about being together. Everyone else mentions that they have something else to do. Luna is going skiing with Sam, Luan has a gig at Sunset Canyon Retirement Home, and Lynn Sr. and Rita plan to take everyone else to Miami. When Lincoln reveals that he got a 13-person toboggan to use on Tall Timbers Hill, he opens it and finds that it broke during the delivery.

At the Royal Woods Mall, Clyde and his fathers Howard and Harold are in line to see Santa Claus when Lincoln calls him up to help him preserve the holiday traditions as Clyde has joined the Loud family in opening presents in the past. They make Lori homesick, fool Luna into thinking that Mick wants to jam with her, snuck Tanya out of Reininger's, combined the McBride family's theater props like a tandem bicycle, a shark head from Jaws, and a crocodile body from Lake Placid to form the Sharkodile to fool the rest of the Loud family, and disguise themselves as elderly people as Sunset Canyon Retirement Home to pull off pranks enough to cancel Luan's gig while avoiding being recognized by Lincoln's grandfather Albert and Clyde's grandmother Gayle. Lori enlists Bobby to get her to Royal Woods as they use his moped during his assignment to take a delivery to Rosa's hairdresser.

After Lincoln and Clyde cause a Sharkodile sighting using Tanya as the victim, Katherine Mulligan calls in Rip Hardcore on how to fight a Sharkodile as Katherine advises everyone to stay away from Miami. Later on while getting ready for the tree-lighting ceremony, Lincoln finds that Leni has creative block after getting fired for losing Tanya, Sam broke up with Luna, Luan vows not to speak to Albert again, and everyone else is depressed over not being able to go to Miami while Lisa invents a Sharkodile repellent. The siblings try to grab to see if it is safe and Lincoln accidently spray the repellent on Lynn Sr. causing him to go completely loopy: not seeing straight, losing balance, and having unintelligible speech.

As Rita goes to pick up a stranded Lori and Bobby out on the frozen road while helping the latter to a gas station, Lincoln finds that their Sharkodile had been seen by Scoots causing Katherine to cancel the tree-lighting ceremony. After his phone-in confession to Katherine fails, Lincoln tells Clyde that they got to show the fake Sharkodile to Katherine at Royal Woods Mall. They also have to contend with Rip who is hunting the Sharkodile. Lincoln and Clyde pilot the Sharkodile down Franklin Avenue where they drag some of the Loud House's decorations, Lisa goes after it with the rest of the family not far behind as Lisa meets up with Lori and Bobby.

With the Sharkodile covered on the news which is even watched at Sunset Canyon Retirement Home, Lincoln and Clyde drive the Sharkodile into Royal Woods Mall and drops off Clyde near the Santa Claus meet and greet just as the Louds, the McBrides, Rip, and Katherine catch up. When the Sharkodile crashes, Clyde states to his dads that he has some explaining to do. Lincoln climbs out which surprises his parents, sisters, and Albert. After Rip is accidentally hit by Lisa's Sharkodile repellant, Lincoln takes this time to confess about the sabotages because he didn't want his family to be apart on Christmas as well as mentioning to Leni that Tanya is doing fine. His family forgives him with his parents admitting that no Christmas tradition can be broken. Katherine declares the tree-lighting ceremony restarted as Luna sings her new song "It's Christmas Time".

On Christmas Day, the Loud family, Albert, and Clyde open their presents with Tanya also present. While mentioning that he got 300 hours of community service for the Sharkodile incident, Lincoln mentions that Luna and Sam reconciled with their skiing trip being back on, Albert reinstated Luan's gig as they reconciled, Lori will be taken back to Fairway University, and the rest of the family will be heading to Miami. Rita leads the rest of the family into showing Lincoln the rebuilt toboggan named Sledzilla. With help from Lisa's successful experiment, Lincoln, his sisters, his parents, and Clyde have a snowball fight as Albert watches. Then they ride Sledzilla down Tall Timbers Hill.
