Abdul Hameed Akhund

Abdul Hameed Akhund (Urdu عبدالحميد آخوند, Sindhi:عبدالحميد آخوند) is well known Pakistani author and intelactual[1][2], belongs to Sindh, Pakistan.[3][4][5] He served as secretery to minister of culture department government of Sindh as well.[6]

Early life[edit]

According to Sindhi Language Authority Hyderabad Sindh, Hameed Akhund was born to Akhund Allah Bachayo Siddiqi on 30 March 1945 in Hyderabad city of Hyderabad District, Sindh Pakistan.[7]

Career[edit]

Abdul Hameed Akhund started his career as a director of cultural wing of culture department of Sindh. He had been appointed as director through Sindh Public Service Commission in 1976 and started to rendere his services[8]. He was appointed as first secretary of culture and archive department of Sindh in 1988 [9]and remained secretary of culture and Tourism department of Sindh till 2003.[7][10][11]. and then he was transferred from culture department.[12] He retired as a secretary of Federal government and became member of advisory committee for Information department government of Sindh.[13] He also served as chairman Task Force on Sindh Agriculture Department[14]. Afterward, he joined as a secretary of Endowment Fund Trust and rendering his services yet.[15][16][17] He was awarded with Shah Latif Award in 2016 by culture and tourism deportment of Sindh.[18]

Contribution[edit]

He has authored many books but his books Tale of the tile.[3][19][20], Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, His Mystical Poetry .[21][22] and Bhitai, the Message of the Master[23] is his countable contribution. Mostly he has written many books in English language.[24]
