Alhaji Abdussalam Abdulkarim populary known as A. A. Zaura (born 7th February, 1977), is a Nigerian business man, philanthropist and politician who is running in the 2023 Kano Central senatorial election under the party of All Progressive Congress.[1][2][3][4]
Early Life and Education[edit]
A. A. Zaura born in Dakata, Nassarawa Local Government, but originally he's from Zaura Babba, Ungogo Local Government Kano State. He attended his primary at Zaura Babba and his secondary school at Government Technical college Bagauda in Kano city. Zaura has studied political science at Baze University Abuja.[1][5][6]
Business[edit]
Before joining politics, Zaura focused on business issues. Zaura's business is mainly focused on oil and gas. A A Zaura is the C.E.O of oil and gas company based in Kano Nigeria, Zaura Energy Limited.[7] He is also the MD of Plambeck Emirates Nigeria Limited, an oil and gas company in Nigeria which has its headquarters in Germany. Also, Zaura is the MD of Sals Core Limited, a company of car sales and rentals.[8]
In November 2022, a judge of the Federal High Court called for Zaura to be arraigned on charges of a $1.3 million fraud. The prosecution counsel told the court that the defendant Zaura was nowhere to be found for arraignment. The arraignment hearing was adjourned until 5 December.[9][10]
Political life[edit]
Zaura ran for the 2019 Kano State Governorship election under the GPN party in the 2019.[11] Now Zaura is running for the Kano Central senatorial seat in the 2023 election under the APC party.[12][13][14][15][16][17]
In December 2022, Zaura's motorcar was attacked in Gayawa village, Kano State by unknown assailants, leaving 17 people injured.[18][19]
