Kosher Supervision[edit]

Abeles and Heymann products are certified glatt kosher by the Orthodox Union, under Rabbi Yechiel Babad and Kehila Kashrus. [25] Abeles & Heymann uses meat from animals with smooth lungs. The company determines the proper lean-to-fat combination and the mixture is relocated into a rotating machine that binds the ground meat and fat. The ingredients are then placed into an emulsifier and mixed with spices. This emulsion is then inserted into a stuffer which extrudes the meat into a linker. These linked hot dogs are then hung and moved to overs where they are smoked for 12 to 24 hours. The products are then peeled, packaged, and shipped. [9]

While most meats are kosher for Passover, Abeles & Heymann does special kosher-for-Passover production runs on equipment that has been cleaned and made Kosher under rabbinical supervision.[26]
