Abraham Olatunde David also known as King ShomoDavies is a Nigerian entrepreneur, digital marketer and media buying agent.[1][2] He was the head of digital marketing at The Rage Media Group and specializes in executing on marketing campaigns.[3] He was awarded the most creative digital marketer in Africa by the Fast Company Magazine.[4]

Background[edit]

He was born in Lagos but raised in Otta Ogun State, Nigeria. He is known in the digital marketing industry for generating $98 million led digital marketing campaigns for several startups in Nigeria.[5][2] This has served as a source of motivation for young digital entrepreneurs across the industry. He also earned a recognition award from Ovifa, Oya and the Nigerian Entrepreneurs' Forum as the Entrepreneur of the Year, and also in the African stage, he emerged one of the Top 50 most Innovative People in Africa.[4] He has also worked with several nonprofit humanitarian groups in Nigeria that support poor youths and children from low-income families by offering technical skills acquisition and digital literacy.[6] He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife with Bachelor's degree in Dramatic Arts, before moving to Ireland to acquire his masters digital marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute of Ireland.[7] He is married to Comfort Iduh.

He had his Primary and Secondary Education in Lagos state where he spent most of his childhood. He had a bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Arts from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, and a master's degree in digital marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute of Ireland.[8]

Career[edit]

He is a P.R and media professional and has worked in various industries as a P.R, including financial services, Saas, real estate, and consumer goods. In his interview with Thisday news, he mentioned that he began his career back in secondary school as a communicator, prior to being appointed as the director of socials and culture at OAU, Ile-Ife. He is a digital marketer in Nigeria and has been invited to speak in various government conferences and have been featured in leading publications.[9] In one of his lectures, he taught that if African and African-owned enterprises have a global effect as authorities and experts in the fields of digital marketing, he guaranteed that the rest of the world would receive the appropriate information about Africa. With over five years year media experience in the field,[10] he was able to create a digital marketing space for the African market which aims at drawing the attention of the globe. Stressing on this point with journalists, he mentioned that, ''digital marketing in Nigeria has become a crucial part of marketing in the twenty-first century. As a result, he states that online marketing has become challenging and rewarding. It represents an organization’s attempts to educate customers through online marketing, communication, and sales of its goods and services.''[11] He believe that the growth and use of the internet have created novel ways for companies to reach out to clients in a competitive global market and promote and advertise their goods and services. It is undeniable which is one of the key elements of digital marketing is the internet world. He also made known that the creation of a globalized world has altered the structure and features of sales promotion in extremely unprecedented methods. Pointing out at the growth of digital marketing in Nigeria he opined that the industry has become a vital part of marketing in the 21st century. In this context, he stated that online marketing has become both challenging and rewarding in the very sense that it represents an organization's attempts to educate customers through interactive online marketing, communication, and sales of its goods and services.[12]
