Alhaji Lateef Jakande's administration founded the Lagos State Traditional Medicine Board.

The executive governor in 1980, Alhaji Lateef Jankande founded The LSTMB by statute 13th of caps 103 of 19194, which took place in 1980.

The board was established to oversee the traditional medicine code of conduct and practice.

All traditional medicine practitioners in Lagos state must be accredited, inspected, monitored, and licensed.
